Jan 11, 2017 - That was nice

Well after a grueling 54 mile day, here we are set up and watching TELEVISION. As nice as the last place was, no TV reception tells you how far away we were from anything. Still in the rolling mountains here but wind has abated a lot. Will do a bit of exploring here in next days. Hot tub sure looked inviting today. Temps still in 60s area but still better than I am seeing on the island. Take care all and see you down the road. We still haven't received our invitation to the big inauguration as yet, must be in the mail. Gonna be interesting...

Into the sun 16/17

Feb 7, 2014 - Madeira Park to San Bernardino County CA

We are expecting to arrive in San Diego for my "Old Biddies" reunion tomorrow. The reunion will involve colleagues I met from across Canada when I was working in the tourism industry - arriving from Ottawa, Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC. Randy will cool his heels in a campsite with the truck and trailer while I whoop it up with the ladies for a few days. The trip down was uneventful, a bit dull, and beastly cold. Our first night out was -8 overnight so getting into bed in a trailer that had been sitting all winter was like sliding into...

Heading South 2014

May 21, 2013 - Hesperia, California

Feb 18, 2012 - Mountains and Deserts

0840 departure for a nice early start and off into the sun we go. Thru Tehachapi mountains and pass by Edwards AFB which seemed to go on for ever into the desert. More mountains to climb 4500' and a noticeable drop in the temperature. And then what should appear but Wind and Windmill turbines, thanks Arnold. Pulled into park and its 50F and real windy not as nice as last 2 days. Walked for a while and got some minor things we had forgotten in our excitement to leave like scissors salt and pepper and oh yeah a MAP LOL don't need no stinking...
