May 12, 2017 - What do Sequoias, fog, bulls, F18s and fruit trees have in comon??

The answer is California! Mary and I began the day with a short walk down to the Kern River. Well it appears that the CA drought is over! Wow, can you say raging? That much water moving that fast can be a little scary. Kind of like being buzzed by an F18 fighter jet, but more on that later. Anyway, while walking the river we met a local and had a nice conversation about fishing and he made a restaurant recommendation for breakfast. After picking up D&C we had a great breakfast and then went for another walk to the river. Impressive indeed...

Feb 7, 2011 - Hanford

We also got to visit with all the older kids before they left for school, leaving Amanda at home with her two little ones. It was so good to be able to see everyone. -- We left Hanford around nine o'clock. John said it looked like the fog had lifted, but by...

Dec 15, 2009 - Hanford, CA

The Fog God was on our side this morning as we headed off of Bethel Island and turned south once again. The overcast was high and there was no ground fog. Traffic was light through Stockton and by the time I turned over my page in my Atlas from Northern California to Southern California, the sun was attempting to break through the haze. It was actually warm enough to take off sweatshirts and snuggy enough for me to catch some zzz's while I soaked up the sun in the Navagator's seat. -- The sky this morning was so beautiful with the sun...

Apr 12, 2008 - On To The Grand Canyon

After 4 hours sleep in the RV outside Dad's house in Hanford, we hit the road at 6am this morning. Will we hit the Grand Canyon this afternoon? Good question! We're making good time so far - it's now 12:30 and we're just outside of Needles, CA (on the border of Az). About 5 hours left.
