Oct 13, 2016 - Encinitas CA - Self Realization Fellowship

Every time Reggi came to California to visit her father she would visit the Self Realization Fellowship (SRF) in Encinitas, we have continued that tradition when we are in California. SRF is a very peaceful place perched on the cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. You can see whales, dolphins, surfers, people walking on the beach and the beautiful serene waves braking on the rock shelf. Just walking around the grounds brings an inner peace. Reggi always imagines holding the hand of her inner child while walking around, sitting on her...

Casa really enjoyed the children’s garden at the SD Botanical Garden, she got to play music, write with chalk on a wall, play in sand, walk and put objects in the stream and play with block. But most of all she enjoyed toppling the sculptures Alanna made.

Mar 17, 2009 - San Elijo Wetland Reserve

It was a beautiful morning, and in a cool breeze we headed for the coast to see a wetland preserve. The new San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve Visitors Center is a beautiful, impressive building with many hands-on exhibits and some of the inhabitants on display. The 1,000 acre Reserve with 7 miles of walkways, allows the visitor to meander through the coastal wetlands, coastal chaparral, and has several information signs highlighting the region’s plant, wildlife and geography. This lagoon is primarily a shallow-water estuary, and one of...

Mar 16, 2008 - Encinitas - on the coast just out of San Diego

After 2 weeks of National Parks, snow, big trees, tow trucks and cacti, we thought it was about time to head to the coast again. We ended up leaving Joshua Tree NP fairly early and started towards San Diego. We ended up staying just north of San Diego at a place called Encinitas. We did a bit of a drive up the coast and came across some kite surfers setting up on a small rocky beach. I thought about going out, seeing that I'd carted my gear all this way, but after hopping out of the car into a 15degC gale (and not having a wetsuit), it...

Jan 5, 2006 - Victorville, ca

We came into victorville and stayed at a nice park on a lake. I had campfires and saw many birds, some racoons and a skunk. We drove from there into San Diego to the zoo. It was a long drive, but I enjoyed the zoo. I didn't know it, but the whole area around the zoo is a city park with many museums and great archetechual buildings. I think I should visit there again.
