When back up 395 to Highway 120, then over Tioga pass (elevation 9945) thru the upper part of Yosemite, turning towards Wawona (and the Wawona Hotel) then took highway 49 north to Jackson and cut over on highway 88 to Liberty Road abd back home. Driving through Yosemite is very pretty ride, but beware of speeding tourists. As we got closer the the valley, there were numerous signs indicating where at bear had been hit by a vehicle. Note:In my humble opinion, Highway 49 between Oakhurst and Sonora pretty much sucks. A series of 20-30 mph...

Dec 11, 2008 - Elk Grove, Calif

Due to the fog last night we knew it wouldn't be an early start today. We Stayed at the Pixley RV Park, nice place, just off hwy 99. We left the Pixley RV Park about 9:45 a.m. heading north on hwy 99 up the renown Central Valley of Calif. The days travel took us 230 mile through medium dense fog at least 3 hours. Later we pulled onto the street where a brother of Dave's lives. Dave has two brothers in the Sacramento area, it's not always easy to see both in the same visit since they live on opposite ends of the city. This trip isn't going...

Mar 23, 2008 - NADAC FunRaiser Elk Grove, California

Friday, we drove from Kingsburg about three hours north to Elk Grove, CA a suburb of Sacramento. It seems to be a bedroom community consisting primarily of large homes and shopping malls. We set up camp at the WAG agility site, ready for the weekend’s fun. It is a really nice facility with good camping and a covered arena as well as several fenced, grassy fields. Agility went really well on Saturday with Midas having a qualifying run in Hoopers and a clean but slightly over SCT run in Chances. He is really enjoying agility this year. Reba...
