This was one of our “Find something close listed in Woodall’s Guide” trips. We wanted something that seemed simple to get to and this looked like a good choice. The park is rustic and also has a mission of providing camps and program for foster kids it had full hookups and seemed to cater to larger RVs. The spot we got was pull-thru and pretty easy to access, with trees that were not too tight to maneuver around. Jun 24, 2007 - Dobbins, CA

We drove North from Columbia to Dobbins, CA. It was a 175 mile drive. The roads were quite curvy and steep. It was about a 6 hour drive because of the roads. We stopped for 2 hours and took a tour of the Sutter Mine. It is a hard rock gold mine. Right now it is inactive and they do tours. Shortly they will start mining again as the price of gold makes it feasible. We stopped for the night at Lake Francis RV Resort outside Dobbins, CA. We had a really hard time just finding the office.
