We left the wilds of Utah and headed back to the urban wilds of SoCal. I typically don't include SoCal locations in our RVing adventures but we spent most of last summer cold, sunless and damp on our Alaskan journey that I was longing for surf, salt air and sunshine. Our first stop was lovely Serrano Campground, in the San Bernardino Mountains, just out side of Big Bear Lake City. Aug 10, 2011 - Moro Campground Crystal Cove State Park
Tried out the newly opened campground at Crystal Cove. A bit pricey and lots of rules. No place to park extra cars unless you pay a 15 dollar a day use fee and leave by dusk as the extra parking lots closes. We use Trader Joes lot and shuttled people back and forth, with the risk of being towed as a sign posted says no beach use parking. The campgound has nice wide roomy sites that provide electric and water, no sewer. Each site has a beautiful view of the ocean, a walking path under the highway for beach access.
