We decided to take the more scenic drive down from McKinleyville to Corte Madera - along Highway 1 (rather than the 101). However, when it became seriously overcast and the ocean became more and more difficult to see - let alone photograph - we went ahead and drove across the 128 to pick up the 101 again. Didn't make it here in time to get a sunset shot - but then again, there was no lovely sunset to capture. Aug 4, 2008 - The San Francisco Bay Area

Hello, everyone! California is great. We are visiting my mom's godparents, John and Jill, and they are pretty fun. We picked some blackberries and then John made us some gelato out of the blackberries. We picked some plums, too, but we just froze those. They fixed us hamburgers but we found out later that they were made of buffalo! They were actually better than hamburgers. While they drank wine with my mom and dad we played with their dog, Annie. When we left, Jill gave Emma a Chinese purse and I got a mini Cooper. It is a tiny little car...

A Good Time

Feb 22, 2008 - A morning at a fine independent bookseller - Book Passage in Corte Madera

I started a list of things to do once I was back in SF - pay any bills I'd missed before and during the trip, go through big stacks of mail, hug Mango, work on my resume for who knows what kind of job, add up the gas receipts to see what kind of mileage the Sea Dragon provided, finish a few more entries in the trip journal, research Austin, etc. AND set up wireless at home.
