Apr 15, 2013 - Antigua

OK I spent an hour this morning transcribing a weeks worth of notes when the puter dumped me and all my work. Boo hoo So I will try again. FRIDAY April 5th We decided to go on a bus excursion into Antigua, Guatamala. The bus was veeeery interesting. I will let GDP explain the technical stuff later. Suffice to say that our prayers were answered when we did arrive safely in Antigua. On the way, and in the city there was a very large presence of police and military personel. When asked about it, the Tour Guide explained that they were...

Apr 14, 2013 - Huatulco, Mexico

This is wednesday, april 3rd We are in Huatulco, Mexico for the day. We decided to walk in without a tour. What a huge mistake! It was 96 degrees with about 98 humidity, and that dock was a LOT longer than it looked from the top of the ship. After we got there, we saw wonderful dancing with beautiful folklore dress. Their music always makes me want to dance.(maybe when it is a bit cooler) Of course, there are many interesting and beautiful things to see and buy. GDP is so happy that I am limited by suitcases that I foolishly filled at...

Oh well, then I will get back to catching you up on our trip. Monday; We took the excursion into Puerto Vallarta. We travelled by bus with a tour Guide pointing out things to see. The presence of Police and Army personell was very obvious. When one of the passengers asked about it, the guide said it was for drunk drivers. Now you all believe this, don't you? Jul 22, 2011 - Home Sweet Home....really?

We decided to go into town and have breakast before heading home to the heat.It was chilly and drippy out. Went to a little corner place on Main Street. Breakfast was good. Got back to the park and all I really had to do was un-level. Sam had put up all our "stuff" earlier (or last night). While he and Luke were putting their tent trailer back together, Aimee and I ran into town and got Starbucks for the road. By the time we dumped and hooked up the jeep, it was close to 11 (again, I think putting off getting back to the heat). Barely got...

Apr 2, 2011 - Our Journey of a Lifetime Begins

The questions are enthusiastic and encouraging…such as, “Where are you going now?” “How long will you be gone?” and “You are going to continue your travel blog, aren’t you?” I am especially thrilled that so many folks enjoy following us on our adventures. We plan to be on the road about three months, returning to California sometime in July 2011. Our route is to stay to the south and then head east til we hit the Atlantic Ocean, then north to Canada, and then west again to the Pacific Ocean. We hope to tour as many National Parks, historic...

Aug 17, 2007 - Life with Fran has been the best.....

Since I met Fran my life has been all up hill to say the least. We lived in Ceres, California 19 years. Then after retiring from the postal service, we decided to travel the states and do some Workamping. We first learned about this type of work on one of our summer trips to Yellowstone. While I was employed with the Postal Service, I would receive 6 weeks vacation per year. We made the best of this time traveling the states to see all we could see. We even went to the Worlds Fair in Vancover, Canada. We got stuck on Victoria Island...
