Jan 25, 2015 - Valencia CA January 6th - 9th

On January 6th we drove to Final Touch RV Shop in Valencia to get measured for the new blinds which will be installed in a week or so. we also talked with Felix about issues we have with the A/V system. We then moved over to Valencia Travel Village, about 1/4 mile. Valencia Travel Village is a large RV park. about 350 spaces most of which are permanently occupied. Most of the park is pretty well maintained especially where the overnighters are located, some of the back rows were a little seedy, however. they have a nice swimming pool, club...

Apr 24, 2013 - Castaic, CA

This is a one-night stopover on our way to San Diego. We are approaching Los Angeles and we have to determine a strategy to get around or through the most dreaded traffic on Earth. Uncle David says there is not a way to bypass LA; you just have to pick your time to make a transit. So we will time our trip to avoid rush hour and pass through after 10AM and before 3PM. I don't think I ever explained why we decided NOT to visit every major league baseball park on this trip, and instead we are concentrating on national parks and other scenic...

Tue, 01 Jan: Happy New Year 2013 Today was an exhausing, yet exhilarating day. We set our alarm for 0430 and at 0600 the bus departed for Pasadena and the Rose Parade. We arrived at the bus parking area at Pasadena City College a few minutes before seven. We walked about ½ mile to our bleachers at 1650 E. Colorado Blvd. The throngs of people was far larger than is our liking but we finally arrived at our seats shortly before eight. The scene was part New Years in Times Square, part Mardi Gras, and part sheer bedlam. Folks were walking...

Dec 26, 2012 - Castaic, CA

Wed, 26 Dec: Raindrops keep falling on our head... It started raining sometime during the nite/morning and continued intermittently. We took our time getting up, fed, and ready to roll. They weren't forecast, but the rains continued nevertheless. Last evening we planned to dine at the casino, but the place was absolutely packed. We're not casino people and are always amazed at how many folks don't understand fundamental statistics and donate their money to casinos, lotteries, and other games of chance. We took one look at the lines for the...

Apr 12, 2012 - Happy Birthday Verna Lauro

4/12/2012 Sort of our first day out. We took Mom to dinner for her birthday and stopped to see Janice's new puppy. When we dropped Mom off at home, we headed home, it started to sprinkle. We hurried, Bob went to hook up the trailer while I prepared the food for the road. We barely got wet! It was good driving most of the way with very few sprinkles until we got to Santa Paula where it started raining pretty good. We stopped just outside of Santa Clarita for the night around 11 pm. It had stopped raining when we got in, we plugged in the...
