Oct 7, 2013 - Pepe's last ride

On October 9, 2013 Pepe took an irreversible turn for the worse and we were forced to terminate her life to end her suffering. PEPE the following poem is for you. The Rainbow Bridge inspired by a Norse legend By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill, Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still. Where the friends of man and woman do run, When their time on earth is over and done. For here, between this world and the next, Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest. On this golden land, they wait and they play, Till the...

Oct 14, 2011 - Carmichael, California Elks RV Park

Since arriving in the Sacramento area, we have been experiencing some of our warmest weather year to date, high 80s. While we haven't had warm temperatures on the coast, it feels nice to have a taste of summer in the fall. So far, our visit in the Capital City has been rest and visits to Costco. The pool near our motorhome looks inviting, but it doesn't seem to be heated. Sunday evening we joined John, Lori & Hailey at Tex Wasabi for dinner and friendship catch-up. We had a good time with them and hearing about their life in...

Dec 27, 2010 - Reflections!

How I love the sound of this big diesel engine as we leave Sacramento today, heading south in search of warm, sunny climes. Our family time is always special and cherished, especially with our wandering lifestyle, and Thanksgiving and Christmas were the best. Motorhome living is not conducive to rain and cold though, and our nooks and crannies are damp and moldy. We have eaten more than we can lift and I swear the sugar addiction will be hard to kick as will the pounds that need to be shed! This has been a wonderful year for us and we are...

We left Fort Lewis on Wednesday, November 18th and stopped off in Vancouver, Washington to visit with Stan and Carol Hosman. Stan and Lillian are Lois’ first husband’s brother and sister. Stan, Carol and Lois became friends when the Carol and Lois married into the Hosman family. They have all remained friends through all these years. We have always enjoyed visiting with...

The Bus is in Carmichael, CA Drivers Log: 102 miles this leg, 524 miles total We are parked at the Elks Lodge in Carmichael, just east of Sacramento. The good news is the lodge has 14 RV spaces with electricity and water. The bad news is they were full and we are parked in the overflow area. We arrived yesterday (6-3) at about 1:30PM. Janet and I took a 6 mile bike ride on a trail along Lake Natoma. Our ride ended in the front yard of friends Terry and Jennifer Sorenson and Terry met us out front. We had a glass of wine, or two, and headed...

Jan 18, 2008 - Carmichael, CA

Ahhhh! We found the sun. It was 30 degrees when we got up this morning but when we dropped into Redding CA; it warmed up to 71 degrees. I knew we would find some warm, sooner or later. Today was a straight shot down I-5, not much that we haven't seen before, but after some morning freezing fog, we had a gloriously sunny day (can you tell I've been in Washington too long, even the CA. smog is inviting). We wound up in Carmichael CA. at an Elks Lodge with the intention of once again stopping in Livermore, CA tomorrow to visit my sister and...
