We had lunch with our friend Julie at Campfire restaurant, it use to be Dragmasters Auto repair and well know for building drag machines. the quonset hut that was the service bay has been transformed into seating and other facilities for the restaurant. The food was excellent and the company was even better.

We went to Pat & Dave's wedding. Reggi and Pat have been friend since grade school. Pat and Dave met after their respective spouse passed on. They dated for two years and tied the knot at a very beautiful wedding, the theme was Hawaiian, we wore our shell Leis we got on our trip to Maui in 2008 from a wonderful lady along the back road from Hana to Lana'i. Jul 31, 2017 - CA-Carlsbad - Frank's (Reggi's brother) Bday

We went to Jay's Seafood Restaurant in Carlsbad to celebrate Frank's (Reggi's brother) birthday. Connie Mae, his wife, and her son Garret also helped celebrate. Our server was Riley, a Junior at Cal Poly studying Aerospace Engineering with an emphasis in Hypersonics. It was a treat to see her energy and enthusiasm for engineering. We had a great time and the food was outstanding.

Each year since 1998 Jackye and Stephanie (her daughter) & Family have held a 4th of July parade, it started with only three children who paraded around the cul-de-sac to more than 200 participants this year. They now parade around the neighborhood (about 3 block long, two blocks deep. Those who do not participate sit in their lawn chairs along the parade route and watch and clap. Each family brings food / drink to share, it is really a wonderful time and for something that started with only three children to more than 200 participants is...

Jun 16, 2017 - CA-Carlsbad - Alanna & Caia's visit

Alanna and Caia came down from Santa Moncia to be with us, they stayed at Jackye’s home. Jackye & and Reggi have been dear friends for 53 years. Caia really enjoyed playing kick ball in the back yard, playing with the toys that Jackye had stored in her special box, watching Jackye play the player piano and looking into a Kailleidoscope.

We found a diamond in the rough in Carlsbad. A very unique museum that is a must see if you are ever in the area. It is located at 3190 Lionhead Ave, Carlsbad, CA and is open Tuesday through Saturday (closed on holidays) from 9 to 4pm. Oct 15, 2016 - Carlsbad CA - Unusual Sight

We went to eat at the Harbor Fish Cafe in Carlsbad. We were greeted with a man on a table balancing himself on his toes and forearms. We had no idea what he was doing. The waitress told us he was planking. We said what the hell is planking. There were two people attending to the man, after our meal we went over to chat with them. We found out his name was George Hood, he was approaching 5 hours in that position and that he was training for a November 11th attempt at taking back the worlds record for planking which was recently set by a man...

Oct 11, 2016 - Carlsbad CA - Dinner at Susan Elmore’s home

Reggi has been friends with Linda since kindergarten, Susan since third grade and Pat since high school. They try to get together when when we are in town. Susan hosted a dinner at her home. Pat came with her fiancee Dave (they had just spent a month in Viet Nam where Dave was stationed during the war). The meal was delicious and we had a great time.

Oct 4, 2016 - Carlsbad CA - Jackye’s

Jackye invited us to have dinner with her and George. Reggi has been friends with Jackye & George for almost 50 years when she and her children’s father were members of the Jaycees and then the Elks. We had a wonderful time sitting out on the patio reminiscing about times past. Stephanie, Jackye & George’s daughter who lives next to Jackye) stopped over to say hi. Jackye’s grandson Eli came by later.

Sep 26, 2016 - Carlsbad CA - Breakfast with Alanna, Tom & Caia

We met Alanna, Tom & Caia at the Naked Cafe in Carlsbad for breakfast prior to going to the San Diego Botanical Gardens / Children‘s Garden in Encinitas. We gave Caia a duck call we got from taking a Duck Tour in Philadelphia. She really enjoyed it and laughed a lot each time she tried to make noise.

We met Reggi’s brother Frank and his wife Connie Mae for dinner at West Steakhouse in Carlsbad. We had a great time reminiscing and making plans to see each other again. it had been to long since our last visit. We had a great meal, the food was varied and delicious.

Entrée toute simple mais comment IMPORTANTE pour nous. Un ÉNORME MERCI à toute la famille Lebousicaud ou nous avons séjourné durant 4 nuits dans leurs demeures de Carlsbad. Cet arrêt nous a donnés une petite pause de notre roulotte et nous a permis de passer du temps exceptionnel avec des gens extraordinaire. Carlsbad est une ville de la côte à environ 25 minutes de San Diego mais surtout à 12 minutes de Legoland ou nous avons passé deux grosses journées.
