The ride over the Sierras was a little tough on Louie, but beautiful to see. I'm glad we waited the extra day to go as the roads were perfectly clear and the sun was shining; we even had on shorts! Finally! We pulled into the campground we had chosen from our book. The state campgrounds in this area all limited the size of the vehicles, so we had to zero in on one of the few private ones. We checked in and picked our site, as the girl behind the counter explained to us that the campground had been sold to the county and would be changing...

Jul 9, 2009 - All has not been lost

Hello everyone We have not been just idling sitting by while we wait for parts, etc. On the 4th of July we drove down to San Francisco and took in the sights and some of that yummy clam chowder in the famous sour dough bread bowl on Pier 39. Drove in over the Bay bridge and came back out over the "Golden Gate" bridge. We went to get chocolate at Ghiradella (?) on the square. Then we went to Napa Valley for wine. Found some really nice bottles,including one of sparking almond wine. We have been to the movies twice and out shopping a few...

Jul 7, 2009 - Sitting & Hoping

Hello to everyone Just a note to let everyone know we are still waiting for parts so we can get on the road again. After we left Reno, we came over Donner Pass elev 7,239 ft. We took Hwy 20 which was a windy steep road and as we got close to the botton our brakes went out. REAL SCARRY!!!!!!!!!!!!! We just happened to end up at a great RV and truck repair place. This was last Friday and we are still waiting for parts. Not only did we burn up the brakes but the power steering pump, the abs sensors, the water pump and a few other things. We...

May 23, 2007 - Browns Valley (Grass Valley area) The new home

Tina and Daves new house in Browns Valley. Dave is a builder and they just moved into this house. He is busy with two other homes under construction. With this new house and the other two, they have plenty of things to do. Not to mention all the activities of 4 kids.
