Feb 2, 2007 - Yo Yo Yosemite!
Gloves! Yes, Gloves! If you come to Yosemite National Park and you don't bring any, then welcome to my pain. My little fingers almost froze to death. I need to change the famous nursery rhyme to: This little piggie froze to death, this other little piggie froze to death too, so did the next and the next, but the last little piggie went all black due to frost bite then later he also died as they chopped his head off. It's ridiculously cold on your extremities over here. Luckily the amount of trekking we did enabled enough blood to circulate...Jump to full entry
Dec 29, 2006 - A trip to Sonora
We took a drive over to Sonora today. Kind of a trip down memory lane for us. We have spent many years, at various times going down Highway 120 up into the Sierra Foothills and over to Sonora. As you drive over there, you go through many old towns. It is not a drive on an interstate, but rather a California Route 120 which is for the most part rural. It winds East into the Sierra's and is the Route you would take to go to Yosemite. That route is closed now for winter. Snow causes it's closure at the higher elevations.
