Well, New York is now behind me and I am in leg 2 of my journey! I spent most of Wednesday 30th November traveling. My flight from New York to LA was 5 hours and 45 minutes, which is nearly how long it took to get to New York from England! It was strange to make the entire journey over land. At one point the Captain suggested we look out of the window as there was a magnificent view of Monument Valley. It really was bizarre, all I could see was vast red clay! There were parts where the land had cracked all down the centre, like the effect...

She's On Her Way!

Just a stop on our way to Sequoia National Park. We have to drop down to here to get around the mountains. Quite the drive today. We crossed a number of mountain ranges. The first when you climb west out of Death Valley is 20 miles of climbing up to 5,000 feet from below sea level. They even had places to stop to get radiator water if you were overheating. You then drop down 4,000 feet into a desert basin. We then travelled south, up over another small mountain pass and through the towns of Trona and Ridgecrest. We then followed highway 14...
