Nov 11, 2015 - Day 24...Avila/Pismo Beach

Left San Francisco and headed off towards Montery, we decided to take the coastal route as we'd read about the views, the GPS wasn't too happy about us taking this route, but we persevered and headed off on the A1 towards Los Angeles. The views along the coast were wonderful, we stopped several times to take photos and for lunch at The Whole Enchilada. Wonderful lunch, including a Margarita of course !! Paula opted for the fish taco, I went for a Seafood & Crab enchiladas. Mexican food is very popular here, almost every state have numerous...

Drove down the coast to Avila Beach. We got blessed with an awesome full hookup spot looking out over the Bay. We got the second spot from the end nearest the pier. Hook up spots and dry spots on the water are full. They do have water to fill RVs. Dry spots on the hill had several open spots. On Monday, a few people left. Andy, Ashley and Brady spent the weekend with us. We had Dinner with Jenny and Wes one night. We got to watch the Tour of California bike race finish in Avila Beach. Satelite and cel worked good. Weather was cloudy most...

Sep 9, 2013 - Lake Havasu bound

Call us crazy. We left the nice cool beach to go to HOT lake Havasu to do some boating. Still feels strange not having a house. We had to stop buy and get the boat out of storage and cancel our storage. Drove all the way to the Lake Havasu turnoff on the forty and crashed out for the night. Norma followed in the Cherokee.

Sep 7, 2013 - Our Swiss neighbors

Me and Norma were out chillin in front of the Moho, nice and quiet with an awesome view of the ocean. Just then, we saw a rented Motorhome pulling into the campground. We thought, oh no, probably full of screaming kids and they will park right next to us. The rental Moho keeps coming and parks right next to us, now we are really worried. Out pops a jolly Swiss man and his girlfriend. They were laughing and having a good time. We introduced ourselves and then became friends. They toured our Moho and oohed and awed. The next morning we bought...

Jun 28, 2013 - Morro Bay, Avila Beach, Paso Robles

The last couple of days have been HOT in the Paso Robles California area, so we did manage to spend yesterday down close to the ocean, and had a great time. We met up with an old friend Lala from lake Havasu who currently lives in Atascadero, not far from Morro Bay. Lala served as our tour guide and we had a great time seeing the sights. We went to Morro Bay for lunch, and if you get the chance we highly recommend "The Galley" for great fish tacos. We went to Avila Beach in the afternoon, and with great timing, drove out on the pier just in...

Mar 18, 2012 - Avila Beach

Today we all took a drive to Avila beach. It was Melissa, my kids, cousins Lizzy and Diana and myself. The weather was a bit chilly so we didn't get into the water but we did visit all the cute little shops on the waterfront. We walked on the beach looking at pretty shells and then we walked out on the pier. I did have to overcome my fear of heights and deep water to be able to walk all the way out on the pier but I did it! It was so cool. We saw beautiful birds that we think were pelicans. The ocean with it's waves were really beautiful...
