Nov 27, 2014 - Thanksgiving

Got to the Bay Area around 4pm the day before Thanksgiving which gave us a day to get settled and cook some food for our TG feast on the after TG. Max was busy keeping San Jose fire free on the day so we gathered at Sam and Krystal's place along with her mother and brother to eat an amazing meal. While in the area for about a month we are calling Alameda Fairgrounds RV Park in Pleasanton home. Although we had to leave all our Christmas stuff in Reno we had to have a little juletide decorations.

Oct 19, 2010 - Rosie and the SS Red Oak

Oct 19, 2010 9:30 459.1 70936 There was no rush to leave this morning as we are only going as far as Alameda. Besides, who wants to drive in commute traffic. So it is 9:30 before we get out of the park. We have emptied the full tanks, (black and gray water) and filled the empty tanks (drinking water and fuel). We will be dry camping at the Encinal Yacht Club until Sunday morning. Traffic was not too bad and we reached the yacht club by about 11:30. After checking in, getting the RV set in its new home for the next 5 days, checking in with...

Sep 27, 2009 - Final Frenzie

Only 3 weeks to go. I am sure we will be working on the boat while in transit. We leave October 26th with over 180 sailboats all headed to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We still have so much to accomplish!!! Luckily some good friends and crew are coming to visit the 2nd week in October to help us get ready. I find I shuffle stuff from one part of the boat to the next trying to fill all the little cubby holes. Too much stuff or not enough storage??? The parade out of the bay should be awesome. I am so looking forward to starting this journey.

May 28, 2009 - The Journey Begins

One week to go before our journey begins! As I speak our new main sail has arrived, Robert is putting the new water pump on, I am making lee cloths, the list is endless. I am not sure how we will be ready to go but they say crusing is working on your boat in exotic places !!! The work never ends. I thought crusing was sailing along in warm waters drinking margaritas--I am still hoping for that :) Please follow along with our adventures and join us when you can. Kathy

Jan 18, 2009 - Preparing to Leave

Our plans are to leave with the Baja HA HA sailing race in October this year 2009. If our boat is ready to go! We are in frantic mode replacing most of the systems on our "good old boat". Right now our water tanks are out being repaired, our kitchen is totally torn up getting to a leak in our main diesel tank, our autopilot is back from repair, and Robert is replacing all the plumbing. Yikes! I have learned so much the past 2 years. I knew nothing about sailboats or sailing and I have had a crash course. So far I love it although there are...
