10/19 A 159 miles (IR7, US191) brought us to Taylor, Arizona to visit our friends Ted and Joni LeBlanc. Along the way we stopped at the Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site. Hubbell started trading in this area in 1876 and the post is still in the business of selling Indian blankets and jewelry. Also along the way we stopped at another 4-star Mexican restaurant called Aliberto’s (Navajo Blvd. in Holbrook, Arizona). Aliberto’s is a fast-food place with good green chili burritos. 6/24 – 6/26 It took us a day to drive 222 miles to Taylor, Arizona. Most of the trip was along US 60 which was a beautiful drive. The highlight was the drive down into Salt River Canyon and then the drive right back out – beautiful. In Taylor we stayed in our friends’ driveway. We met Joni and Ted LeBlanc in Livingston, Texas during our first year full-timing and have communicated with them ever since.
