Jan 24, 2008 - Congress, AZ (Day 2) Side Trip to Prescott Valley

(Ron Writing) We got a little rain during the night and it was very cloudy this morning. Right after lunch we drove up to Prescott Valley to my sister's house. We are staying overnight here, have some appointments in the area tomorrow and plan to return to Congress late tomorrow afternoon. It was pretty cold in Prescott today and snowing just a little. That weather system is supposed to clear out tonight. We also put a few more things into storage and got a few things out of storage. We use the attic of my sister's garage to store some...

Dec 16, 2007 - Phoenix to Prescott Valley, AZ

(Ron Writing) This morning we took a van from Phoenix to Prescott Valley and are again at my sister's house. She has invited us to stay for Christmas so we are looking forward to that and also taking care of doctors appointments while we are here. You may be thinking we have given up on RV travel but that's not the case. We plan to be "on the road again" shortly after Christmas. We got here too late to attend church but we did go with my sister to her afternoon small group bible study. They meet twice a month and after the bible study,...

Nov 27, 2007 - Barstow, CA to Prescott Valley, AZ

(Ron Writing) Today we drove the final leg of our trip back to Prescott Valley, AZ arriving mid-afternoon. The drive was uneventful which is good. We got all unpacked and had a relaxing evening. Would you believe we played Mexican Train again after dinner - I think we're hooked on it! We also enjoyed one of those spectacular Arizona sunsets. My sister's living room window looks west at the view you see in today's photos. I also added some photos to the Sunday and Monday blogs since I now have the cable needed to transfer photos from the...

Nov 15, 2007 - Heber, AZ to Prescott Valley, AZ

(Ron Writing) We had a good night's sleep in our "rest area" parking spot. We were the only ones there. We spent the morning driving from Heber, AZ to Prescott Valley, AZ via highways 260, I-17, 169, and 69. The weather and drive were both very beautiful today. Some folks who've never been to eastern Arizona might have a notion that Arizona is all desert. Our drive was through beautiful mountains and forests. Much of the time we were between 5,000 and 8,000 feet elevation. Remember the photos of the hawk flying above the VLA yesterday?...

Jul 2, 2007 - Prescott Valley, AZ

This morning we left East Shores RV Park in San Dimas, CA. We've been staying here since we got back from Arizona on June 2nd. The house sold faster than we had expected and we still had some obligations in the area so we spent our first month of full-time RVing right here in California. This did give us a nice opportunity to have some final get-togethers with friends and relatives before we start traveling. It was a busy month with lots of loose ends to take care of relating to this big change in our lives. Today we are heading back to...

May 31, 2007 - Travel to Prescott Valley, AZ

This was quite an emotional day. After months of planning, getting the house ready to sell, selecting an agent, closing the deal with a buyer, and doing a million things to get ready for this adventure, we left our house of almost 27 years in the possession of its new owner. We leave a house but take with us lots of memories of happy times spent in this home that suited us so well. We got up early, took a few photos and when the new owner came by for a "walk-through" at about 7 AM we gave him a detailed run-down on all the "systems" in the...
