Oct 28, 2017 - Enchanted Pumpkin Festival in Carefree, Arizona

Today, we ventured north to the upscale town of Carefree, Arizona. The town hosts an annual "Enchanted Pumpkin Festival." The Pumpkin Festival ran from October 20th to the 29th this year. Carefree has a population of about 3400 people and nearly that many people were at the festival. The town was conceived in the mid-1950's and home building started in 1958. The town incorporated in 1984 to avoid being annexed by the City of Scottsdale. The festival features carved pumpkins, vignettes and dioramas designed and crafted by Master Pumpkin...

Apr 3, 2009 - Carefree, Az, 4/3/09 - 4/05/09

Friday, April 3 Left Williams and headed for Flagstaff and then south through Sedona, and ending up at Carefree, Az. The trip was fairly short, about 4 or 5 hrs. We arrived in Carefree in time for dinner with cousin Patti. Sedona was beautiful to see. Everything was so colorful. The red was so very red and the green just looked fresh. The town of Sedona looked quite wealthy, the homes were really a step above. We didn't stop to shop, we were anxious to get to our destination. Oct 19, 2007 - Maintenance Day, viewing brother John's golf palace, and dinner at Mastro's

October 19, 2007 We got up on Friday with the idea that this was a workday to get everything cleaned up. Susan did laundry and I got the car washed. Then around 5:00 we drove out to John's new house in Desert Mountain, which has a Scottsdale address but is near Carefree AZ. His place is in an exclusive part of Scottsdale that features 6 golf courses—three of which are always ready for play. We took a complete tour of the house.
