Jun 26, 2014 - Amazing sunsets

Today was a good day for me. Feeling better, and for the first time I was able to take the stairs in the RV one after another instead of stopping at each step. Ta Da! As we were driving down the road we passed an old Buick, you know, one of those huge cars that probably would cost an arm and leg for gas and pretty hard to park? Driving this white boat was an elderly ( I consider anyone who looks to be about 80 elderly...use to think anyone over 60 was elderly until I hit 60) lady. Sweet looking, all white hair, dressed nicely and driving...

Jun 25, 2014 - Drinking fluids

Oh my, been down in sick bay for the last couple days. Sorry, haven't written. I have been having problems with my thyroid meds so went to the doctor to discuss the symptoms and since I am borderline on the scale they use for normalcy (ha), he took me off the meds. Well, when I made the appointment the day before the receptionist told me not to take anything by mouth before the appointment cause they might take a blood test. My appointment was at noon, and I was so hungry. The nurse said, no blood test, as they only do them in the a.m....

Jun 23, 2014 - The Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza

The other day we went to see the Arizona State Capitol. Since I had taken so many photos of it and the surrounding areas I just did an entry for the State Capitol. Today is for the Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza. It serves as a home to a number of memorials honoring prominent figures in Arizona history as well as memorializing significant wars and other events that have had an impact on the state. It is designated as one of the Phoenix Points of Pride. It is located directly across the street from the Capitol building. A beautiful plaza that...

Jun 22, 2014 - Sadness

It is with great sadness to say that John's nephew, Andy Tyo, passed away yesterday evening. He was only in his late 40's. Andy had moved to Colorado as he considered himself a "mountain man". He felt his best surrounded by the woods and the beauty of the mountains. Andy had 2 children who adored him. He was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to walk his daughter down the aisle when she married last year. Andy had a quirky sense of humor, one of those people who you couldn't help but like. He did not have an easy life, he wanted so...

Jun 21, 2014 - Arizona State Capitol

I think this is going to be a 2 part entry as there were so many pictures taken I cannot put them all on one day’s entry. You know how I have been talking about getting out and doing something? Well, I did. Actually, we did. John was there too. Don’t want to leave him out. Even though it was supposed to be 106 today, we took the plunge and headed out to sight see. I am so glad we did as it was a very interesting day. We got in the truck and noticed the outside temperature. Well, as you know when you are stationary it gets to be what I call...

Jun 20, 2014 - Friday and it's 109

Well, to start off with...it is hot! Was 109 today and I still am in shock. Wa Wa Wa....I know, I sound like I am 7 years old. Be thankful you don't live with me. Ha ha... Went outside once and that was about 5 p.m. Stayed outside watching Toby try to decide the exact place to take a pee. As far as I am concerned, one piece of gravel/sand is the same as another. But, not in a dog's point of view. It is hysterical to watch. Some days he finds a spot right away, other days we have to survey the territory till the chosen spot is determined....

Jun 18, 2014 - Where to live.

We are still here in 100 degree weather. But, it is a dry heat...a comment you will hear mostly from Arizonan residents, not from us. A day of rest from Physical Therapy and boy, was I ever pooped. I think I spent most of the day sleeping. Not sure why I was so tired, but did spend most of the day nodding off in the recliner or laying on the bed. The park is gaining and losing about 2 RV's a day. Still pretty empty however. The pool is no longer heated so it is getting chilly. I am very sensitive to cold and hot so I try not to get in when...

Jun 17, 2014 - Dull day

We have not been anywhere except Physical Therapy, oh, and Wal-Mart. My life is full right now. I am starting to do a little better walking. I have high hopes for the next week. Each day seems to be better and the pain seems less. I want to take a look around Buckeye and see what there might be to do that is close by. Starting to feel like I can get out of the RV and see a few things. You know every day cannot be funny or interesting so this seems to be one of those days. Hope you are having fun with your day.

Jun 15, 2014 - Happy Father's Day

To all you father's out there, I hope your Father's Day was spent with your family and that you had a wonderful time. My own father passed away 27 years ago and I miss him everyday. He was the master of patience (not one of the qualities that he passed on to me), loved practical jokes (he especially enjoyed short-sheeting my bed) worked as a master builder (not only houses on spec, but incredible furniture) was a man who could "turn the other cheek" and loved me unconditionally. Easy to do, me being me...hehehe. He won a Silver Star for...

Jun 13, 2014 - Friday, the 13th.

Here it is, Friday the 13th with a full moon no less. But, it turned out to be a good day after all. AC makes all the difference in life. Sigh. I saw the doctor yesterday and the results were that he believes I got a hematoma after surgery and that is why the thigh muscles are so inflamed and painful. He was very glad I was going to PT and even wrote out a prescription for them to increase my stationary bicycle time from 10 minutes to 20 minutes each time. Holy Cow, I was sweating at 10 minutes. I wonder if they have a motorized one that I...

Jun 11, 2014 - Air Conditioner

“What a difference a day can make….just 24 little hours”. We went from melting to comfortable early this morning and our lives have been changed forever. Bring on the heat…we are ready. Ha Ha. Getting a little smart aleck now that we have a cool RV. Our “angel” arrived about 0800 and by 0930 we had been delivered and installed a beautiful air conditioner in the bedroom. It wasn’t an inexpensive item for us, but one that was extremely necessary. I remember a day 2 years ago in Minnesota that was so incredibly hot, but mixed with humidity....

Jun 10, 2014 - Hot tips

A much better day, even though it was hotter, no major issues with anything. Ta Da Tomorrow we are planning to have a second air conditioner put in the bedroom area. We are so excited….dancing happy feet. It will make such a huge difference for us that we may even stay in Arizona through the summer. Joke…ha ha. Today was my first appointment with Physical Therapy and I must say I was almost in tears because I was so happy to know that I was going to get better. We made appointments for the next 3 weeks. Next one is Thursday. YAY! Hot! Let...
