Jun 12, 2011 - Tok to Harding Lake, Alaska

6/12/11 Left Tok in the morning and headed north towards Fairbanks. Cloudy morning but they at least were high so we could appreciate the views of the mountains of the Alaska Range to our left. We arrived at the official end of the Alaska Highway at milepost 1422 in Delta Junction and stopped at the Visitor Center to get some pics of the monument for the end of the highway. Jun 19, 2010 - Salcha River Campground, AK

Instead of staying two nights in Delta Junction (there was nothing there for us that we wanted to do), we drove about 50 miles towards Fairbanks and we stayed in the Salcha River State Campground. It was dry camping but the setting was nice and we had the whole place to our selves, at least camping wise. The were lots of Alaskan's using the boat ramp. Several of the boats were swamp buggies like they use in the Florida Everglades. Murray tried fishing and he had some jump but not hooked. Shelly was the best fisher, she found a fly rod. On...
