Denali National Park After dropping Kim, Gavin, and Ethan off at the airport we turned our motorhome towards Denali National Park, where our friends were already. They had called us around 2:30 P.M. to advise us that they would have dinner ready for us upon our arrival. Denali would be a short drive of only 120 miles so our afternoon start really was not a problem. Besides we really enjoyed having the family up for the day. Apr 29, 2005 - The Arctic Circle to Denali National Park

4/29/05 This morning we will head back on the Dalton Highway toward Fairbanks. It's cool this morning, but sunny. We did not see the Aurora Borealis, it was just to bright all night. I got a few times between 12 and 3 AM, but the sky was still bright. I don't think it ever got really dark. The first 15 miles or so of our ride will be on pavement, then gravel for a 70 miles or so.
