Distance 13 kms, finish time early afternoon. At breakfast we meet Helen who was working at a function at The Glenlivet the night before. She relates stories about visiting South Africans in hired, poorly fitting kilts getting pissed. After breakfast the taxi arrives to pick up our bags with the news that David, Judith and Tony are already at The Glenlivet waiting for us, a 30 minute walk away, so Ruud offers to drive us in 2 groups to save time. Aug 27, 2014 - The Tomintoul Spur

We split this 24km side trip into 2 days, stopping at Glen Livet and then Tomintoul, the highest village in the highlands. This walk was a little more challenging than some of the others, some up hills, downhills, some muddy patches, crossing through moors and pasturelands, all providing magnificent views of the Cairngorms.
