Now we are so far north that sunrise today is at 4:23 and sunset is at 10:00. This means that it is very light at 4:00 and doesn't get completely dark until almost 11:00 at night! Kind of messes with your head because often we go to sleep while it's light and wake up while it's light...seems like it's never dark. Today was a travel day from Downham Market up through Edinburgh, Scotland and on to Kirkcaldy on Scotland's east coast. We rolled out of bed early to make the 8:08 train out of Downham Market. We chatted with nephew Phil Lister Sunday morning as we weren't able to travel across Edinburgh to see him with a busy day ahead. Headed back via the scenic coastal route from the Forth to the Tay rivers. It was slow and windy but really charming. We visited Dysart, roughly opposite Edinburgh across the Firth of Forth on the north end of Kirkcaldy. I have posted some photos of the harbour, once the busiest port on the East Coast of Scotland, this tiny harbour handled up to eight sailing ships at a time. My main interest was family history...
