Aug 3, 2017 - Trossachs National Park

Today we headed west to explore the highlands and the beautiful lakes of the Trossachs National Park. The first stop was at Loch Lomond a vast freshwater loch (lake) featured in the song "The Bonnie Banks o'Loch Lomond". Finally we had a boat excursion on Loch Katrine on a steam driven boat built in 1899 that still operates daily trips on the lake.

We were quite happy to stay warm and cosy in Homer, with the heater on and David had snooker to watch. This campsite is quite big with good facilities and the charge was £21 for the night.

Jun 21, 2011 - Loch Lomond

We chose to spend our last evening at Loch Lomond, which is only about 30 minutes from the Glasgow airport. This is a beautiful area of lakes and mountains. We planned to take a romantic sunset cruise on Loch Lomond to finish of our Scotland trip. However, the weather did not cooperate and it was raining and blowing too hard for the boats to go out. Oh well, this was the only thing that we had not been able to do. The weather, over all, had been quite good for us. You do not go to Scotland for good weather, but we had fine weather other...
