On our last day we stopped a place called Kilmahog to see the wollen mills there and found a huge highland cow there named Hamish. Linda bought a bag of carrots and fed him though the fence. Then we went and saw a sheep dog show. Linda loved it. They did the demonstration with some Himalayan flightless ducks being herded around by a border collie. It was hilarious watching the dog chase the ducks around the field. Boy, those dogs love to work.

Aug 24, 2007 - Loch Lomond to Aberfoyle

Loch Lomond Loch Lomond is really pretty. When we arrived, lots of people were walking their dogs along the path beside the lake. We took a boat ride, passing some beautiful castles and stately mansions. This one is the one I wanted to buy. (If only...) Here's me by the heather... From there we headed north to Aberfoyle, the gateway to the Trossachs (Scotland's southern highlands). Sheep dotted the hills, and we passed the West Highland Way, on which backpackers can walk from Glasgow to Fort William. The heather is in bloom right now,...
