We had visited Corfe Castle earlier in our stay so now we visited the more recent Banke’s family home, Kingston Lacy. From after the English Civil War the Bankes moved their family residence to Kingston Lacy. The house and contents remained within the family until on the death Henry John Ralph Bankes in 1981it was bequeathed to the National Trust, its largest bequest. Sep 4, 2012 - Wimborne Minster

Today we headed inland to the town of Wimborne Minster on the banks of the Stour. The main focus of the town is the Minster of St Cuthberga. The great part of the church was built between 1120 and 1180. The church had major restoration in the 19th century which included the magnificent stained glass windows seen today. Other interesting features of the church was the orrery clock with the sun symbols marking the hours and the moon symbols marking the days of the month.
