May 9, 2019 - The Stig??? and Hellfire

Tony redeemed his birthday present today - a 10 lap drive in a Ferrari 458 (in the pouring rain in a left hand drive car!!!!) He had booked to drive an Ariel Atom, but they sent him a message this morning to say it was broken. Which was probably just as well as he would have been very, very wet. It was held at Bovingdon Airfield, not too far from where we are at present, so we hired a car and chuffed off. A pity it was raining but he enjoyed it anyway. The poor guys running the show were soaking wet and even had to go out with brooms...

May 8, 2019 - Great Barrier What???

We are moored near the pump house and they've been pumping water all day, so when we looked out we could see the bottom - you could be forgiven for thinking you were near the Barrier Reef!!! Tony took the opportunity to get his GoPro out and get some underwater photos There was a canal traders market over the weekend - this was one of the traders, he cuts vinyl records into designs (yours or his). New Adventures

May 4, 2019 - Baby time - no not the Royal baby!!

Getting closer ever so slowly. This Totem Pole, made from Red Cedar, is next to the canal and was given as a gift to a man called John Alsford when he owned the timber yard that was originally on the site where it stands. We moved up the canal a little more yesterday to Northchurch, just north of Berkhamstead, and this morning we walked back into Berkhamstead to look at the canal traders market. The babies are out in force along the canal and are very cute. It's Bank Holiday weekend and the weather forcast is for dreadful...
