We left the campground mid-morning and drove north along the coast, then through picturesque Snowdonia National Park, beside rivers with snow-capped mountains in the distance. We drove through beautiful Barmouth on the river estuary, but again didn’t stop and headed for Harlech. We accidentally drove through the village centre (not suitable for caravans) which was nerve-wracking, but then we turned back along the coastal road to Min-y-Don Caravan Park (LL46 2UG), which is very conveniently located near the beach and beneath the castle. Bob's Bits Even though Tony Curtis never said “Yondah lies my father’s castle” in the film The Black Shield of Falworth, one can imagine him looking from afar as you behold the monumental castles built by Edward I (Edward Longshanks). The reason for this was the lack of fealty shown by Llywelyn ap Gruffydd.(Lewellen the Last).
