Monday 12th August We have a long day today, but we are not quite ready to leave at 8am, so Tony heads back to feed the meter for an hour. It is not quite 8am when he feeds the meter, and is highly pissed off when the machine only gives him parking for the next four minutes. Others are there for the same reason, and he tells them to wait until after the clock hits 8am. One of the others goes first, Tony doesn’t want to get caught twice! Sep 20, 2012 - Shafted in Shaftsbury

20 Sept 2012 Awoke to a fine day. Good brekky with lots of fresh fruit, etc. And the full breakfast was large. We washed some clothes and put them on the Hills to dry, and then headed into town to get some bits at the Lidl supermarket. First stop for the day was Sherborne. Many old (really old) buildings and churches including the Sherborne Abbey that we inspected (not quite churched out yet!). Quite an impressive building. Outside, the sandstone has an orangey tinge. Sep 19, 2012 - Kiss me Hardy

19 Sept 2012 Kiss me Hardy Farewelled Penny after breakfast – she gave us detailed instructions on where to drive today. A nice friendly lady, (washed and folded our clothes yesterday!) – she raced at Goodwood in her younger days! Past Portsmouth to the New Forest – we went off the main road and wandered about the small roads and lanes – saw many ponies and many more people!
