May 28, 2018 - Day 4

Today we went for a walk around the neighbourhood of Vauxhall and Elephant & Castle then caught the train to Knightsbridge. We wandered, in awe, through Harrods. PJ couldn’t leave the food hall without buying a doughnut but that was all that went onto the credit card :) We then met my cousin’s son who lives in Kings Cross. We had a lovely lunch enjoying the London sunshine and caught up on the past 20 or so years since we last met. We came back to Vauxhall and had a pot of tea at the Little Teahouse Theatre at the end of the street.

The PJs On Tour

May 26, 2018 - Day 2

This morning we headed back over the river as PJ did a tour of the Churchill War Rooms which he said was fascinating. He’d watched the movie The Darkest Hour about a month ago so all fresh in his mind. When he finished we happened to be at the exact location (St James Park/Horse Guards) where the Major Generals Review was starting (a trial run of the Trooping of the Colour which is happening in 2 weeks). We stayed and watched for about half an hour then walked up The Mall to Buckingham Palace, took a couple photos as it was very crowded...

The PJs On Tour

May 25, 2018 - London Bound

After a 2 hour lay over at Singapore airport we arrived in London this morning at 5.30am to a dreary, drizzly day. Fortunately by the time we got to our hotel at Vauxhall the weather had cleared a bit so we dropped our bags and hit the pavement. Over the Lambeth Bridge and along the Thames to the Houses of Parliament. Unfortunately there are conservation works happening so scaffold covered a fair bit of the building and nothing to be seen of Big Ben. We wandered over to Westminster Abbey, watched the changing of the Queens guard, stopped...
