Nov 21, 2016 - A Trip on the Train to Swanage & Poole Harbour

A trip down to the south coast provides plenty to do and when visiting my Uncle we spent some time enjoying exploring Swanage. In the evening we returned to Poole and headed down to the harbour for the traditional Tuesday night motor bike meet. The steam train trip was enjoyed by everyone including Daisy the dog, she loves a steam train. The train passed via some popular sights including Corf Castle and ended up at Swanage. Jan 3, 2013 - Childs view of Corfe Castle and Swanage

Hazel and Didi joined us for a few days. After their arrival on the Wednesday we took a walk in the forest near the campground. It was a bit muddy but we all enjoyed our walk particulary Daisy who raced through the woods. Next day we headed first to Corfe Castle. Didi went round the castle looking for shields with clues to answer a quiz. This was very different to September when we last visited the castle. Sep 3, 2012 - Swanage and Durlston Head

It was summer at last so we headed out for our first exploration of the Dorset Jurassic Coast. We headed to the seaside resort of Swanage on the Isle of Purbeck (not an island but a promontory of low hills and heath land jutting out to sea. The walk we intended to do started from the Durlston County Park following the South West Coastal Path for a start around Durlston Head and then across the hills , into Swanage and then back to the park by the coastal path.
