May 27, 2013 - Home

Well, I am home, clean and napped. Even got the tent cleaned and dried out. I beleive it will be B&Bs from this point forward if I want the bad discs in my back to hold up better. A couple highlights I missed in my haste posting: 2 repairs - the panier rack came loose so I had to replace with a screw from one of water bottle holders; the hand grip mirror got knocked of, but Gorilla duct tape came through! Hot food the first day was not to be so I had a sandwich and crisps from the grocery. It still tasted good after the long ride When I got...

May 24, 2013 - Called it!

Alright friends . . . I have relented and called it a day. This weather cell is not going away soon enough for me to get out of here today. I have planned a shorter trip west tomorrow, up the coast Sunday then back to that same camp spot on Sunday evening so I can get back over here Monday, before yet another squall comes through. We'll leave this 400 miler for the "S" word . . . if it ever gets here. Pray for a sunrise tomorrow or at least a little drier weather and perhaps the little red dot on the map will move a bit! LoL

May 24, 2013 - The Red Dot Shall Move

Yes, ever so gently due to weather, but I will put some distance on the map's red dot today. I will change the itenarary before I leave, but plans are to go camp west of Kings Lynn and then do an out and back to Skegness tomorrow, staying at the same campground tomorrow night, then back Monday. Travelling prays for me still please, even with the shorter distance. I will catch up with you later at the camp and in the little market town of Stickney.

May 23, 2013 - Packed and ready to go!

Temp has dropped significantly and there was a cloudburst. Maybe it is just getting it all out of its system before I leave in the morning. I hope to take a sunrise pic for you. If not then I will get something for you before I stop for coffee. Night, and I'll check back in the morning. Packing is always the fun part!

May 23, 2013 - Weather Delay

It is apparently still winter here. I am adventurous, but I am not Bear Grylls and my Wingman, the weather forcaster (and what little good sense I have) has suggested a delay. So I am sipping coffee as I watch the tall pines outside, bent nearly to the ground from the wind, get pounded by torrents of freezing rain. (You get the picture I'm sure) The weather map looks like this is a slow cell, not likely to give me much of a break today, but I will let you know how it goes . . .

May 23, 2013 - Abbreviation

If I can trust meteorology then there is not much chance of outrunning this 10 a.m. cell in the red circle. It looks far more promising by noon or so . . . but 100 miles to destination by then with the evening traffic on a bank holiday weekend is questionable. Looking for abbreviated stop locations in case I can get out of here some time later today.
