Went to The Wedgewood Factory - but once there they want to charge you to go into every section. It was ten pounds fifty for a tour round the factory, 7 pounds to go in the museum and on it went, so we had a look around some of the displays then went to the cafe for lunch and went to their shop - I know wedgewood is expensive but the cheapest, very plain mug was 15 pounds. (One pound equals $1.70) We seem to be spending more time in traffic than anything else, the roads just can't cope with it anymore. However, we are impressed with the...

Honkers & England

May 2, 2012 - Stone and onto Lakes

Next stop Stone to see Anne and Roger Green. About 25 years ago my nephew Gavin did a 6 month young farmers exchange on the Green's dairy farm. All members of both families have have kept in touch ever since and visited each other over the years. On our 2004 trip Chris (Gavin's mum) and I stayed with the Greens. So this was a catch up visit We had instructions from the Greens and from Chris and Gav . Our instructions were for getting to Stone from Luton Airport. However wfigured we could easily switch that to starting point Stafford. So...

Europe 2012

Jul 26, 2007 - quick update

Ja ha algum tempo que dou novidades, mas infelizmente nao foi um bom mes. Inundacoes ....diluvios em Sheffield e por tado o UK e a perca da minha Candy. Para quem nao a conhecia, e imagino que sejam poucos, a Candy era (ainda custa muito dizer "era") a minha cadela. Chegou aos meus bracos quando fiz 18 anos e foi das melhores prendas que esta vida me deu. Abandonou-nos no incio de Julho e deixou 11 anos de muitas alegrias, muitas traquinices, muitos sustos, um filhote maravilhoso ( Rupert) e muita saudade. Vai ser sempre muito dificil...

Alo meus queridos amigos, Decidi partilhar convosco este lindo dia .... ESTA A CHOVER A POTES...! E O DILUVIO! NAO ME ADMIRO NADA SE VIR O NOE ALI EM BAIXO A PASSEAR NA SUA ARCA CHEIO DE BICHARADA! E E hoje o maior dia do ano...E suposto ter-mos sol ate as 11pm , mas nada de sol ate agora....so chuva, chuva, chuva e um calor que nao se pode! Este pais E tropical, eles E q nao sabem...mas de certeza que tem palmeiras escondidas por ai , no meio das florestas....so podem ter! Enfim, e para fazer com que a vida aqui seja uma aventura...
