Sep 6, 2012 - And breathe

And back from spring to autumn in one slightly delayed 13 hour flight. Should have been off work to recover until Monday but have been in the office to book the next trip and sort out expenses. Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong and China, here I come again, 3 weeks from today. And although my counting may be slightly adrift one way or the other leaving Argentina was by my reckoning my 300th passport stamp.

Oct 6, 2011 - Back to base

Pleasant journey home, Cathay from Cebu to Hong Kong in Business class ticked a new box for me - upstairs on a Jumbo. It's a lot smaller than I expected but with only one seat on either side of the aisle, and a flow of champagne I can handle that sort of travel. Checked bags through to London which meant that we only had to carry our hand luggage into Hong Kong. We had booked a cheap room in Hong Kong to be able to shower and freshen up before the long flight back to Heathrow, typical of my luck the hotel was chaotic and disorganised so...

Aug 23, 2009 - V2009... day 2!

We snoozed til about 11 this morning and as my cold hadn't got any worse (yes my first cold for 5 months!) we decided to go back to V.. yippee! It was just going to be the two of us and as I didn't want to make myself worse I decided to drive... it was while I was driving that we heard on the radio that Oasis had pulled out!! Goddammit, that was the only reason we'd decided to go! Anyway, we were nearly there so decided to carry on... we parked in the same cafe and walked round to the camping entrance again. As we were walking I could hear...

Aug 22, 2009 - V2009!!

We decided to surprise a few people today and turn up unannounced to V! We'd said to everyone that was going that we couldn't afford it and we were going to see my parents this weekend. Steve had been speaking to Paul Clifford on Facebook to see if we could get some tickets and asked him to keep all secret squirrel for us. He was already getting tickets for him and 7 others but he couldn't get any others. Luckily Steve's friend Richie and his girlfriend Lisa were going and they ordered two extra tickets for us. Richie also offered us a lift...

Jul 14, 2008 - It's all over now.

Back to the cashpoint, time to enslave myself to the fund providers. One last input before I give this up for a while, a video montage of the Chelmsford beer festial and my embarrassing friends. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=rDVr4Wr4f84

Sep 11, 2007 - Dozens of Things to Do

Took the camper to the bodywork shop yesterday (Monday) for a minor repair to the bottom rear panel - poor thing has to have its bottom sanded, resprayed and baked (ouch)to repair some hairline cracks in the GRP panel, job will take about a week. As a result instead of packing we have had to unpack some of our gear which is now piled up in the garage, so this week will be spent sorting out household paperwork and compiling a 'how the house works' manual plus lots of work in the garden to get it tidy before we go. For every job that gets...

Aug 3, 2006 - Living The London Way

Hey Guys Well I was hoping that at this job I'd be able to check and write personal emails but it seems not as access is denied to "all" external email accounts, sucks huh. But my new email is jamie.pollard@ubs.com - yes they've spelt my name wrong but apparently in 5 days I can have it changed and then it's another 5 days till it's active - bastards, those that know me well will know that I "hate" it when people spell my name wrong, once or twice is ok but constantly frustrates me soooo much, and now even though I sign my emails with Jaime...

Mar 29, 2004 - Day One - Invercargill/Auckland/Los Angeles/London

Lorraine Oliver and I left Invercargill at 1.20 pm on Monday 29th March 2004. We travelled via Christchurch and Auckland and left Auckland bound for London at 9.15 pm. After a 2 hour stopover in Los Angeles, we finally arrived at London Heathrow at 11.00 am on the morning of Tuesday 30th March 2004. We caught a National Express Coach to London Stansted Airport where my cousin's husband Brian picked us up for our car journey of approximately one hour to Monks Eleigh, a beautiful little English village situated in Suffolk, about 20 minutes...
