I took a day trip out to Bath which is a beautiful place, quite well to do and old (of course.. everything is old here) I wandered the narrow little streets poking my nose into my last cathedral and saw Sally Lunns original bakery. I didn't partake in a cuppa and a bun as one has to book weeks in advance but there was no dearht of food shops. Sweets and chocolate shops were plenty too. Aug 1, 2006 - Looking around Wells and Glastonbury

Mon 31st July: Today we set out to discover the attractions around bath our first stop was Laycock. A quite little Village With a pretty spectacular Abbey. This was the Abbey they used in the Harry Potter film. They also had some traditional english gardens (Which are just weeds and thistles)Although the gardens had some ofthe biggest sunflowers i have seen. We tried to have lunch for about a half hour but the power went out to the entire town, apparently a regular accurance. When the power finaly came back on we sat in a typical english...

Jul 24, 2004 - Clevedon (wish it were Portishead)

We drove all day the 23rd to get down towards Somerset and Cornwall area where we are going to be spending a little over a week driving around. We decided to look for a B&B in Portishead which is incredibly beautiful. It's on the water and has lovely parks and high hills with stunning old stone houses, many of which would have made fine B&B's, we thought. But, alas, none of them were. There were NO places to stay in Portishead, aside from a VERY expensive looking hotel. So we were forced to try the next town, and the next and the next. And...
