There was not a lot to see in Khor Fakkan, and what there was was pretty spread out around the city. So we decided to bite the bullet and go on one of the cruise tours. But, we did discuss with our fellow travelers in the small bus what we all wanted to see, and more importantly what we wanted to avoid ! The shopping was minimized to about 10 minutes when most of us did not even go in the shop, and those who did did not do so for long. Dec 20, 2005 - Some South Africa Stats on Violence

Now that I'm out of South Africa, I thought I'd put up some stats on violence there. Now no one has to worry, as I'm no longer there! Although I really did not feel uncomfortable, nervous or scared while I was there, and nothing bad happened to me. ->375 children under the age of 12 and 324 minors between 12 and 17 yrs were killed by guns in 2000.
