About 6 hours west of İstanbul on the banks of the Dardanelles sits the famous Gallipoli battlefields, the site of one of the most brutal campaigns of WWİ. The Allied forces has intended to take the peninsula, gaining access to İstanbul and the Black Sea towns of Russia but something like 700,000 soldiers ended up dying here. The Gallipoli Peninsula is now a national park which preserves the monuments to the fallen and on the second day of our tour, Patrick went to visit.
