Dec 29, 2009 - Phanom Rung ruins

We explored the Phanom Rung ruins. They were built by the Khmer between the 10th and 13th centuries (during the Angkor period) on top of an extinct volcano. Tony: Cool ruins. Jen: The colors of the ancient stones are exquisite. Looking at a picture of Tim with his pale yellow shirt and drab green pants situated in a window opening --seemed like he was part of the works. Vin: It’s hard not to imagine what this was like when it was first built.

Dec 28, 2009 - Nang Rong

We caught a bus early in the morning and headed to Buriram, and then we went south on a small bus for about 45 minutes to Nang Rong. We ended up at the Hostel California around 4:00, and we’re not sure if we’ll ever be able to leave (tho we know we can check out any time we’d like).
