Dec 2, 2007 - Koh Tao

So after our mental night bus to Bangkok and another night bus to Surat Thani in the space of 12 hrs we finally rocked up at the ferry port to take us to Koh Tao! After soooo many people tried to tell us not to go down South because the weather had been shocking we arrived on the island to bright sunshine, which continued for the whole time we were there! We got to Ban's, recommended to us by Sarah and Sam (thanks guys, it was amezzzzzzing!) and were introduced to Flav, our dutch dive instructor/legend who told us we could basically start...

Nov 18, 2007 - Back on the Tao

Hi everyone, Well, it's been an exciting week! Lots of planning for the wedding, attended the wedding of our tailor, an Indian wedding in Thailand, it was very cool! See some of the pics I've attached. The sat night was the party and ring exchange, at the Rembrandt Hotel, very swish! Then the Sunday at the temple for the traditional ceremony, it was a wonderful experience! We're now on Koh Tao and it's just as I remember it. So beautiful and everything is perfect, the weather, the diving, the food and people. We've booked into our IDC...

Sep 16, 2007 - Koh Tao

So This is where I've been the last week and 1/2. I've passed my Open Water course which allows me to dive in water as deep as 18 meters. It was a four day course beginning in the swimming pool and ending in the gulf of Thailand. The coolest things i saw were blue spotted sting rays, trigger fish and even a shark briefly. After the class i spent a couple of days poolside enjoying the recent string of good weather. Fortunately the weather has been quite nice of late, bringing people, mostly English, Scottish, German and Israeli studenst...

Sep 13, 2007 - Cambodia and Thailand

OK, time to continue the story...... Anyway a couple of hours out of Saigon and we're at the border, heading in to meet our truck and 6 days in Cambodia. At this point I'll update you with the sorry tale of our trip twat, Dez. If you remember he headed off in to Vietnam with some Dutch chick in tow. Well it turns out she saw the error of her ways quite quickly and he spent most of the time on his own. We did see him in Na trang on a boat trip trying to chat up two American ladies. Anyway he wasn't at the border on time to meet the truck so...

Adorable!!! On arrive a Bangkok vers 15 heures. Une longue attente a la gare pour reprendre le train de nuit vers Chumphon dans le sud d'ou on prendra le bateau pour Koh Tao. Les enfants en ont...

May 30, 2007 - Koh Tao

Hi guys, well we are now in Koh Tao, a small island in the gulf of Thailand and well known for its diving and we are taking it real easy! The night boat over here was pretty funny. It was the cargo boat and matterasses were put on the floor for the unfortuantes who were doing the 6hr crossing in the middle of the night, us!! We actually slept pretty well though, except for the big cockroaches running around!! We found some accomodation by the beach, with a gorgeous pool looking out into the sea, it was only cheap while we did diving with...
