Jan 6, 2012 - tunnelmia taolta

Jan 5, 2012 - okview

huomenta! majoitusvalinta osui nappiin, tämä on tosi leppoisa mesta, omistaja on ihana ihminen ja hinta edullinen, koska saatiin puinen mökki. otettiin kaks viikkoa, per viikko=47,5€, betoniset mökit tosin yli tuplasti kalliimpia, vaikka sekin ihan kohtuullista vielä. jää enemmän rahaa ruokaan ja juomaan, mökissä ei kuitenkaan olla muuten kuin nukkumassa. baari/ravintola on yhteinen olohuone, jossa jengi käy hengaamassa ruoan, juoman ja seurustelun merkeissä. suurin osa on suomalaisia täällä ja brittiomistaja on saanutkin paljon vaikutteita...

Oct 5, 2011 - Koh Tao

Koh Tao is the island where Christine and I decided to take our Open Water scuba diving certification and I am so glad that we went here for it. There are a lot of schools here but we were recommended to go to a place called Master Divers and they were so amazing. They are rated as the #1 diving place in Koh Tao and I would recommend to anyone thinking of getting their certification to go here to do it. The marine life and the coral here is so amazing and compared to prices back home for getting certified, this place is pretty cheap. It's...

Sep 27, 2011 - the mistaken paridise

I did not think that any thing told me in advance that Koh Tao was not for me but who knows. I thought it has swimming, hiking and scuba diver it will bee great. my bad. I spent the first night in a hut that was in the port town but I just needed to rest. It seemed all the places I had read about that were under my budget no longer existed. the place was not too bad except for the bugs. I met a nice older Russian woman who tried to sell me a boat ride around the island for more money then it cost me to get to the island from Bangkok. The...

Sep 3, 2010 - Last day!

Hi all Sorry you have had to wait so long for another update. Since we last spoke, I have been in Khao Sok National Park. We stayed in an amazing place deep in the jungle. Spent the first day there tubing down a river. For anyone who doesnt know what that is its basically sitting in a big rubber ring going down a river with a strong strong current. On day two in the national park, no-one wanted to do this lake tour. So we spent the day walking through the rainforest. On the way back though it started to rain .... and rain ... and rain. I...

Jul 20, 2010 - koh tao

hey. spent 5 days in koh tao and didnt get a chance to update due to overly expensive internet. koh tao itself was beautiful but i found it hard to get around due to poor roads and therefore felt a bit isolated. found that the islands are far less friendly this time of year due to being more tourists than backpackers (a noticeable difference in friendliness from one group to the other). aside from meeting up with my friends tom and michelle (we went motorbiking around the island but due to them nearly being ripped off and me not liking the...

Jun 8, 2010 - Koh Tao

Jun 5, 2010 - I Wish I Had A Waterproof Digital Camera In Koh Tao

The next morning we were all out of bed for breakfast before it ended at 10am and then took the bus to the next ferry port to get to Koh Tao. We eventually arrived at a wonderful hotel called Seashell Resort which was basically in the middle of everything, and anything you needed was only a short walk away. Thye took us on a short tour of the main street in our resort; the hotels restaurant on the beach, the best internet place and, of course, 7 Eleven. After a late lunch at a wonderful cafe that did the best fresh bread and the best iced...
