Apr 13, 2010 - Bangkok and Koh Chang

Back to Bangkok to see the Sukhimvit area (business and shopping district). We'd booked a central hotel with average reviews but when we turned up we were shown to an amazing suite which we didn't believe could be ours so we locked the door and unpacked quickly. We shopped during the day and partied on an evening, even managing to visit some of the more interesting areas which enlightened us as to why Bangkok is so popular with the sex tourists. We also used Bangkok as a gateway to get to the island of Koh Chang where we enjoyed two very...

May 19, 2009 - Koh Chang

On the island of Koh Chang on north eastern Thailand coast. It seems to be a popular escape from Bangkok, lots of western tourists. The beaches are good, although this is the off season, so most days are gray and rainy. Which is fine by me, I'm at the end this particular Asia session - I fly to Canada soon - so I'm enjoying just relaxing. Taking in a few movies, reading a good spy book, sleeping late. Did a tour of the island by motorbike, but there's not much to see. Looking forward to seeing the kids and spending the summer in Canada...

Jan 11, 2009 - A lot in the next few entries

Things got really busy after Thailand which is good biz wise but left little time to follow up on keeping my blog at least half way up to date, so bare with me while I fill in the gaps for those that wondered how the rest of the trip went. In Thailand, I had stayed in Bangkok for a few days which without looking back, believe I had blogged already...in kind of a hurry because I have so much to do so let's move onto Koh Chang which came after Pattaya which was a rat invested sex hole (literally) and I didn't think much of Thailand until I...

Apr 23, 2008 - Koh Chang II

Final night in Koh Chang back to civilisation (i.e. proper shops and starbucks) tomorrow for last few days in Bangkok before flying home...yeh! Ko Chang has been everything I could have hoped for, blue sky's - clear waters - sun shining...! Its been me, trashy novels and the beach pretty much most days - and whilst it doesn't make for much of a blog entry I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I took a taxi out to one of the other villages in Koh Chang - Bang Bao which is the prettiest little fishing village where all the restaurants and shops etc are...

Jun 13, 2007 - Koh Chang - Elephant Isle - Thailand

Koh Chang i have been meaning to visit for the last 2 years, so was nice to finally get down there :-) Albeit a quick visit in the off (wet) season there was still quite alot of tourists and people kicking around. The diving was ok. I went out on the boat 4 times, the first two days the visibilitly was good, 10 to 13 metres, probably same on the 3rd day but when we came up and boarded the boat a big strom swept through. And the good ship "the wing" wasn't the most able boat in those sea's. Quite a few on board sea sick, lot's of rock and...
