Jan 12, 2013 - Battambang to Bangkok

The plan today was to get from Battambang in Cambodia back to Bangkok in Thailand going a different way from our entry into Cambodia, via Pailin and the border crossing at Phum Psar Prum (called Ban Pakkad on the Thailand side). This would involve at least 2 taxis (one each side of the border) and a bus. In the event it involved 2 taxis and 3 different drivers before we had even left Battambang! With some difficulty the Paris Hotel (bit off dump but what can you expect for US$11?) found us a taxi to take us the 90km or so to the border....

May 13, 2007 - Heaven is a place called Koh Chang..

Seriously, Koh Chang is probably our favorite place in Thailand to date. Partly because there is a great bunch of people to hang out with and partly because it is so beautiful. Yesterday was a pretty perfect day. Eight of us decided to hire scooters and see a bit of the Island (about 60 km all the way round). On our way past a popular resort at the top end of the island we came across an Irish bar selling roast lunch (our first since leaving blighty), it was everything you would hope for... yorkies, stuffing, roast spuds, beef, gravy -...

Jan 11, 2007 - Trat to Koh Chang

After a long day on the bus and ferry, we arrived on beautiful Koh Chang to meet up with Jen's parents...ahhh, nothing like arriving on a white sand island to be handed the keys to a free beachfront bungalow - Thanks Mom and Dad! We spent the first 4 days on White Sand Beach, living it up in style with Wenda and Rick. Outside our bungalow, we made a new best friend with the sweetest monkey we have ever seen in our life...he was wearing a pink sweater for gods sakes!! Great little guy, even though he did tend to be a nibbler... After four...

Dec 19, 2005 - Koh Chang

Apr 3, 2005 - Life's on a Beach

Hello there We are having a great and relaxing time. Koh Chang is beautiful, it is a mix of jungle and beach. We liked Sihanoukville, but we didn't find the right vibe. However Trevor's B-day went out with a bang, we met some great people and partied till dawn. Back to Koh Chang. We have just really enjoyed sleeping on the beach and playing in the ocean. Tomorrow we are planning on renting a scooter to tour the island. Add a little adventure to our unadventurous days. More waterfalls and temples to be sought out. I'd like to say CONGRATS...

Feb 6, 2005 - Heinekin, Thai food and transvestite go go bars

Well kiddies, sit back and let me tell you of the night that was to be our last in Bangkok. We caught a river taxi down to the hotel Chris was staying in and had a few beers and a feed at a nice Thai restaurant on Thanon Silom. The night cracked off to a good one given my stomach could actually handle alcohol and they charged Kirsty and I for our drinks only and kindly forgot about the food. We all headed up the street in eager search of a go go bar as we had heard about some pretty talented ping pong playing, cigarrete smoking girls who...
