Apr 6, 2007 - Double Bacon!!

Hello All, Once again sorry for the lack of entries over the last week, managing both Bacon's drinking habits and trying to keep up with our website was just too much for my tired mind to manage!! Aaron arrived on Friday afternoon, pale faced and full of excitement about his 3 week stint with 'The Travelers' - In typical Aaron style he turned up completely out of the blue having sweet talked the girls at Bangkok Airport into getting him on a flight 5 hours earlier than booked... What a boy!! The night started out quite tame with everyone...

Mar 22, 2007 - The Beaches of Thailand

After 3 great weeks of traveling with Janine and Matt we just saw them off at the sea port on Ko Phangan. Our trip to Ko Phi Phi was awesome, well except for the accommodations, we paid 700B a night for some run down shack and they were the cheapest on the island. The bonus was that we were right on the beach away from the hustle and bustle of the main town. We stayed for 3 days and loved every minute of it. We took a trip to the island of Ko Phi Phi Don where the movie "The Beach" was filmed it was beautiful. Then we went to Ko Lanta, it...

Mar 6, 2007 - Full Moon P.A.R.T.Y!

Hello, I hope you are all well. We're exhausted after some serious party going. From Krabi we caught the worlds slowest bus and then ferry to Ko Phangan. We should have arrived at 6pm but didn't get there untill 11pm. Luckily, in a place where accomodation is hard to come by at full moon time, the lady had kept our room. It's important to book a room in advance around the full moon but many places don't take bookings. We spent a couple of hours in India trying lots of websites but with no luck. While I was busy dying in Singapore a very...

Mar 2, 2007 - Ko Phangan, Thailand

March 5/07 Ko Phangan has been a BLAST and it has been GREAT getting a little sun. I thought I would spend the rest of my days relaxing on the different beaches and coves of Ko Phangan but the plans have changed! I will be leaving at 6am tomorow to go to Krabi. The plan is to tour around further south and maybe hit some of the islands on the west coast before making the FULL DAY trip back to Bangkok! It was pretty much a decision of do I come home with a nice tan - or more tarvel experience. Tans fade ;) So, the last couple of days have...

Feb 23, 2007 - Thailand - Koh Phangan

There is a famous saying in Thailand which I cannot pronounce for the life of me. All I know is that it translates roughly to "same same but different." It is typically used in a context to the phenomenon of Thai Ladyboys, or at least those who have followed through with the trans-gender operations. There are more of these procedures performed in Bangkok than anywhere else in the world...and it shows. Now, I'm not going where you think I might be going with this. There will be no more talk of ladyboys and trans-gender ops. But I find that...

Dec 6, 2006 - Hockey Night in Thailand

After parting ways with my parents I headed to the east coast and caught a ferry to Ko Pha-ngan, the location of the Full Moon Party. It turns out that it's also the best Canadian spotting location in Thailand, because before the week was out we had a crew of about 30 partying together. But the party is a different post. This post is about what happens when you have a group of Canadians hanging out on a beach all day and they tired of playing frisbee, volleyball and football (sorry, no soccer allowed). I'm not sure who originally came up...

Nov 1, 2006 - Ko Phangan, Thailand

UPDATE: Nov 9/06 We are sitting and waiting for our ride into town right now. We will be picked up in 15 minutes, then we are dropped off in Thong Sala where we will wait for our catamaran! It's an hour by catamaran to Ko Tao (Also known as Turtle Island!). We are very excited! Ko Tao is tiny and FAR less developed. It is supposed to be BEAUTIFUL for diving and snorkelling! So... we hope to buy an underwater disposable camera to play with! As for our last couple nights in Ko Phangan... We have just been taking advantage of our new...

Aug 24, 2006 - Thailand

Thailand is the place that everyone should go to for a cheap, get wasted kind of holiday. I found myself on the Island of Ko Phan Ghan for the full moon party. Although the party was cool, I liked the island a lot more with no party. It's the sort of place to chill out and meet some cool people.

Aug 7, 2006 - Had Yuan, Ko Pha Ngan

Hello home-dawgs. We're here now on Ko Pha Ngan staying in Eden Gardens in a bungalow on Had Yuan beach that is ONLY accessible by boat(unless you're Tarzan).....and my my.....is it ever paradise! Unfortunately, all forms of communication on this side of the island are very minimal. This internet café is the only one anywhere near us and it's 150 baht per hour....which is the price of a REALLY nice meal here.....its usually about 25 for an hour. So this will be short. Im not even too sure where to start describing. There are hammocks...

Jul 12, 2006 - The Full Moonty

For those worrying that we've started working at some bizarre strip-joint, we're not. We were just totally lacking in inspiration for this post's title, and came up with something pretty much completely irrelevant. The only link to anything relevant is that we're now on the exotic, fabulous and beautiful island of Ko Pha-Ngan (Ko Pan Yang) to go to a 'Full Moon Party' which basically entails staying up all night and partying until dawn, just because there's a full moon. Any excuse, eh? As I said, the island is just fantastically beautiful....

Jun 26, 2006 - Shoot the Moon

Eighteen days!! I ended up spending on Koh Pha-ngan and I couldn't even begin to even start to even recount all of the silly sordid stories stored up from my time on that debaucherous island...so I won't. A picture is worth a thousand words, yeah? I just posted thirty-six of them. Had Mikey not had his camera lifted on the first night by a fast-fingered ladyboy, I would have had a funny handful more. Just the same, I think you'll still get the gist from the triple-dozen above.

Jun 23, 2006 - Koh Samui and Koh Tao, Thailand

After four flights (it made sense for the budget!) and several bus / boat journeys we at got to Koh Samui from Vietnam. We only stayed for a couple of days as our main aim was to get to Koh Tao for some diving. Koh Samui is the more developed of the two islands and surprisingly picturesque. There were quite a few ex-pat bars run by Aussies and English, so a full English breakfast or an Aussie Burger were easy to come by. We were, however, surprised to find that every night around about the same time there would be a power outage for about...
