Jan 19, 2007 - Koh Samui

We flew into torrential rain in Koh Samui and after 24 hours sitting in our room waiting for the skies to clear up, decided we might be best advised to move on. Koh Samui wasn't cheap and was just as touristy so we were happy to continue on the search for the perfect beach spot.

Jul 26, 2006 - Koh Samui, Thailand

Koh Samui has been going since 1971 when a tourist stumbled across it on a coconut boat from Thailand. A paradise island with white sandy beaches, clear green seas, lush green forests and rich brown roads interspersed with rough wooden structures. Part of an archipelago that includes 80 smaller islands of which only another 6 are inhabited; Koh Samui is the third largest island and 35 years on, it is still going strong. Today, the island offers something for everyone; from the mad, largest and most popular resort of Chawang, the less busy...

Jan 24, 2006 - Koh Samui

Part 1 by JT and part 2 by Michel Part 1: Koh Samui is a little piece of paradise, i have yet to add any pictures of the beaches but they are incredible, we are currently staying on the lower part of the island just because it is cheaper to sleep here rather than the expensive part of the beach. Kick boxing is much more popular than i would have expected here. They have trucks doing round, announcing who the boxers are in the fights this week. Unfortuntely, we are much too far away from the fight today to attend so we decided we should...

Jan 22, 2006 - Hat Lamai

So we got to the ferry place at about 6:30 and had an hour and a half wait. I arranged my accomodation with a lady who owned a backpacker place on Hat Lamai, on the South of the island. I wasn't intending on going here as it's supposed to be the 2nd busiest place, but I thought what the hell as it might be a good place to meet people. I sat outside in the sun for the whole boat ride, which took about 2 and 1/2 hours. The scenery, especially at first was pretty stunning, and I had a nice relax listening to my newly acquired tunes. When we...

Jan 1, 2006 - A Raving Happy New Year

Hello and Happy New Year everyone!! We have been enjoying our holidays on some of Thailand's most well known island beach resorts. Shortly after the mix-up with our travels on Christmas, we headed to the east coast to lounge around in the sun for a week or so. We started our grand beach tour on the lovely island of Ko Samui. We had the pleasure of staying at a wonderful little resort called the Jungle Club, which was set among the hills overlooking the white sands of the Chaweng beaches. There we were greeted with smiling faces from the...

Mar 10, 2005 - Koh Samui, Thailand (Island Paradise)

Note... new pictures added from Mardi Gras up to now*** Took a Thai Airlines Boeing 777 for a 2 hour 900 mile flight from Singapore to Bangkok early Wednesday morning and got to Bangkok at about 10am. I knew that Thailand would be great when i boarded the plane and all the flight attendents would bow when i passed them. Good food too! Earlier this week, my friend Danny from San Fran sent me an email that he'd be in Bangkok on the 12th, so since I arrived on the 9th I figured I'd explore the country first and then have a weekend in the big...

Jan 26, 2005 - Koh Samui

We arrived in Koh Samui on 11/1 and have been staying at the Fair House Beach Resort on Chaweng Noi Beach. We decided to stay here for 16 nights as it was difficult to find accomodation due to everone else moving over to this side of Thailand. This has been the longest we have stayed in any one place so it has been nice just to chill out and relax. We have been a bit dissapointed by Chaweng Beach - all of the guide books reckon this is one of the most beautiful in Thailand, however it is very crowded, no more than three metres wide along...

Dec 16, 2004 - Koh Samui
