May 5, 2007 - Ko Pagnan

Ko pagnan was the island of party. we were ready to hit if hard for a week of build up until the full moon party which we'd heard was pretty full on with no sleep involved. The culture on the island for us was pretty non-existent, i think unless you count sunsets and hazy sunrises, theres not much to report on the old fauna of this island! It was a crazy week of lovely night time sessions followed by sleepy afternoon sunbathing. With our favourite restaurant, our seats became special for us as we always ordered our creamy onion soup with...

Jan 31, 2007 - Koh Phangan...Party till dawn under the Full Moon!

One extreme to the next in Koh Phangan...first night we took a tuk tuk up the island to Coral Bay Bungalows...didn't know that the roads are too rough for the taxis to make it, so we hiked 45 minutes up hill with our 300 pound (well, it felt like 300 pounds!) backpacks to the most beautiful, remote deserted white sand beach. Spent the night lying in our deck hammocks and eating chocolate-banana-twix pancakes and enjoying the peace and quiet... We were going to need it! The next day brought us to the crazy town of Haad Rin, home of the...

Sep 5, 2006 - Koh Pah Ngan

Jul 13, 2006 - Kho Pha-Ngan

It is the day after the Full Moon Party, so forgive me for my randomness....my mind is struggling to get back to normal. I left Bangkok 4-5 days ago (I actually have no idea what day it is today). I caught a bus from Bangkok to Surat Thani, a port town to the islands. The bus was much like the Chinatown buses, except the Chinatown buses don't take 12 hours. The ride down was quite a trip...Thailand's landscape is spectacular, even at night. I didn't sleep the entire time because everytime I closed my eyes I felt like I was missing...

Jul 12, 2006 - Koh Samui (Full Moon Party on Koh Pha-ngan)

Nina woke up with a hangover from all the Thai Whiskey we'd drunk last night. Had breakfast at a place on the beach which helped Nina to feel better. After breakfast we went to the beach with Tom, Claire, Joe and Katie. Nina had no swimsuit as it was in the wash so she stayed with all our stuff on the beach while we swam. The water was lovely. We all went for lunch at the restaurant of a nice hotel on the beach. After lunch we went to an Internet cafe which was really cheap and really fast, which was suprising as we were on an island!...

Jun 9, 2006 - Koh Phangan

Left the hotel pretty early and made our way back to the airport to catch a flight to Surat Thani. After the 1hr flight we were ushered onto a bus which was only meant to take 1 hr to get to the pier....well 2 1/2 hrs later we finally arrived there to notice about 25 huge trucks carrying, cement, rocks and sand all lining up to board the same boat as us and a pretty dodgy one at that....don't think Mel was too stoked after her last experience on a boat and I wasn't looking forward to taking care of her sick bags either!! The ferry took 2...

Jun 1, 2006 - Koh Samui

Daar aangekomen...

May 29, 2006 - Ko Pah Ngan - I just can't get out of Hadrin!

Arrived on the first ferry of the day, leaving ko samui around 10:30 and taking about an hour to get over. After fighting my through the various guys trying to get me on board a taxi boat to nowhere, I found myself a little bunaglow at a place called Paradise bungalows (apparenlty the home of the Full Moon Party). Hung out on the beach for a bit reading the newest book I'd picked, rather aptly Robinson Crusoe. In the evening I wandered down to the local bars to grab some food and check out the latest blockbusters. I had a choice among...

May 23, 2006 - Passing the Baton

Well it is was as I remembered it to be - add a few more bungalows than three years ago and Ko Phangan is still the stuff that "quitting your job to travel the world" dreams are made of. Once you get away from the madness of Had Rin, home of the monthly, world famous full moon party, Ko Phangan is still slow & sweet - swaying palms, hammocks, crystal blue waters, gorgeous sunsets, Bob Marley always playing softly in a corner somewhere. It is island life at its finest and it was nice to be back...especially after the weeks of chaos in...

Come Away With Me...

Apr 12, 2006 - Koh Pha-Ngan

Ok we decided to leave Malaysia and to travel to Koh Phangan in Thailand to go to the full moon party on the 13th of the month! It took us 6 hours in a bus from Melaka to KL, then 16 hours in a train between KL and Hat Yai in Thailand then 6 hours in a minibus to go to Surat Thani and finally 5 hours on a boat... that's a hell of a trip just to go to a party... Anyway we are now on Koh Phangan which is an island in the golf of Thailand, it's beautifull around here, this is a kid of paradise island! The main part of the island is very...

Mar 21, 2006 - Fun with Fasts

Its been awhile since I have written anything. This is mostly because I didn't know how to explain what I've been up to. You will probably think I'm crazy (not that most of you don't already think that!) Intrigued? Well, read on... After 6 months on the road, I was definitely in need of R & R. So when in Asia the most obvious place to go would be the beaches of Southern Thailand. So March found me on the island of KoPhaNgan. But not one to do anything half-way or the usual way - my beach experience was not typical. I found myself spending...
