Apr 10, 2007 - Full Moon Party

Well I would like to say it was absolutely bloody amazing... but I missed it!! Had a migrane for days before (no not just a headache!!) and was confined to the for dark walls of my hut for this time sobbing into my pillow!! Did manage to drag myself to the party for an hour... as soon as I got there I rushed to the loo and projectile vomited every where and hadnt even had a drink!! The thing is there was no loo roll and I had puke running out of my nose!! So once again I had to route through my hand bag, this time resorting to a bandanah to...

Girls on Tour!!

Mar 23, 2007 - Team America takes on Koh Tao!

Hello All, The tiny island of Ko Tao is, without a doubt, paradise on Earth! So much so that we ended up staying for 8 days. We scored a "luxury" bungalow with two fans, or very own flushing toilet, towels, and a view of the ocean from the little front porch, all for one low price of $6.00 per person per night. A typical day went like this: breakfast underneath the palm trees on the beach, a few hours of sunbathing and swimming, more tasty Thai food, then sunset happy hour(s), which at times lasted a bit longer than they should have! The...

Mar 1, 2007 - Saa dykkermasken passer (Koh Tao)

Well. Sket en masse. Efter 4 dage i Chiang Mai, hvor vi brugte tiden paa at kigge paa guldtempler og besoege natmarkedet, drog vi atter mod syd til Koh Samet. Busturen fra Bangkok blev lidt...

Dec 30, 2006 - Koh Pha Ngan

And so we arrived at Koh Pha Ngan. Stayed in a bungalow right by the beach, which was pretty sweet even though the room was tastefully decorated with frilly pink curtains. The mosquitos were out in force though, which wasn't quite so great - but they did provide some amusement trying to squash them. The island itself is lush: hilly and covered in forest and bordered by quality beaches and clear waters.

Oct 5, 2006 - A taste of paradise..

Ok.... now we're cooking!!!! Left Bangkok Saturday and travelled south to Ko Pha Ngan and arrived in the most amazing place I have ever been, 'bottle beach' in the north of the island, only accessible by boat so doesn't have too many people staying, but enough for a good atmosphere. Litterally living in a hut on the beach, this is what it's all about... and have earmarked it for christmas. The beach is based in a bay, decided to take a 3 man kayak out with Nick and Gary which was amusing, until we got out of the bay..... all of a sudden...

Murray's On Tour !!

Sep 24, 2006 - Ko Phangan - Quick visit to party town

Caught the night train down from Bangkok. Comfy, but still unable too well sleep owing to the constant rattling, banging and emergency stops associated with train journeys in Thailand. When I did get to sleep I woke up covered in Mosquito bites, so as future note to myself I must remember to put deet on before going to sleep. Arrived in Ko Phangan, Thang Sala, at about 1pm after getting the 3 hour ferry journey over from the mainland. Got chatting to 3 girls at Bournemouth College, Jenny, Amy and Kate Wasn't hard to find Coral Bungalows...

Sep 5, 2006 - Koh Pha Ngan, Thailand

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2006. HAAT RIN NOK (SUNRISE BEACH), KOH PHA NGAN, THAILAND. I've arrived at the epicenter of the Full Moon Party. My accommodation is the new Sunrise Resort, just a few steps from the beach, but right in the thick of things (1500 THB; $40). My accommodation is on the high side, but I decided to splurge a bit. Also, prices skyrocket near the date of the Full Moon Party. My room would normally go for 1000 THB. Haat Rin is just as described in the guidebooks: Khao San Road on the beach. At the moment, it's populated by...

Jun 24, 2006 - Beach Time

So I definitely liked our little tree house in the national park - especially compared to last night's homestay! Art's Lodge in the park was fun and Randi, Monika and I all went elepahant treking the second day there - almost a 2 hour ride and event got to sit on the actual back on the elephant rather than just the bench that is normally strapped on like a saddle. Gives you a whole different perspective on exploring the jungle. Yesterday we (sadly) left Art's and went to a village about an hour away near Sukathani. During the day we met...

Jun 4, 2006 - Ko Pah Ngan - still here

Short of it.... Despite best attempts to leave, a failure to get up at anything like a reasonable hour has prevented me from checking out. Six days or so here now, somehow keep getting dragged to the beach party, at least I have seen a few sunrises, which is something that would never normally happen (I refuse to get up that early). Nearly gave myself concussion diving in to the sea one morning, fortunately my head and neck stopped hurting after a few days, don't think I will be doing it again anytime soon. (Enlgand 6 - Jamaica 0) Lots of...

May 17, 2006 - Day 120 Update - Koh Phangan

We left Koa Samui at 1pm and caught the ferry over to Koh Phangan. The weather was terrible and we spent the majority of time sitting in a bar avoiding the rain and watching some films. We checked into the hillside bungalows for 500 Bhart a night and killed time waiting for the European cup final. We watched the game in the same bar we watched the FA cup final however we were a bit more drunk this time round. We met up with a couple of lads we had met previously at the full moon party and the welsh lads we met in Phuket. We were asked to...

May 13, 2006 - Day 116 Update - Koh Samui/Koh Phangan

We went straight into the pub for a full english that fully delivered. We hung aboutin the pub for a few hours playing pool and drinking beer waiting for the evening to roll round. We caught a ferry to Koh Phangan at 6:30 which was about an hour away. We met a few people on the boat and all went to the local pub to watch the FA cup final as Jason is a Westham fan. The pub was full of Liverpool fans, and 1 other Westham fan apart from Jason. We watched the game and then made our way onto the beach for the party. The party is world famous...

Apr 23, 2006 - Back to Koh Pha Ngan

23 April 06 - Back to Koh Pha Ngan I got the first boat to Koh Pha Ngan at 0920. I was pleased to get a taxi boat to Haad Yuan without having to wait too long. It was just me and a lot of locals. As I went into the Big Blue Resort I saw Lawrence and Craig sitting there, so sat and chatted with them. They had decided not to bother going to Koh Tao as they liked it so much there and Craig continued doing more Thai Boxing. Lawrence had been doing very little. I was originally planning to return tomorrow, but my original room was still...
