Sunday: An early morning for a change (7am) and after making breakfast in our room we headed back along the very quiet promenade to the station. Today we took the Golden Pass train from Montreux to Interlaken. It climbed up and over the mountains through more beautiful and remote Swiss country. For part of the way a lovely Swiss lady from Lausanne sat opposite us and kept us informed of all things of interest along the way. Jun 22, 2010 - Rainy Day & A Soleful Tale

Day 2- When we woke up today it was 30 degrees in valley … sprinkling and misty....but we had a great view of the Staubbach waterfall. Breakfast was typically European …so I made a sandwich with the meats and cheese and had a great croissant (finally) and a kiwi.. Decided since it was so cold to drive to Interlaken and go to the COOP. It was a bust. We cannot find Milka bars anywhere!! (sorry Justin) So we drove back and hiked the valley by the milky river and walked through the cemetery. We then headed to the Steckelberg lift station...

Jul 21, 2008 - Departing Lausanne for the Alps

We are departing Lausanne on a scenic "Golden Pass" train for Murren and the Alps this morning. Our hostel has been lovely and we are looking forward to our little family apartment chalet with an alp view. Yesterday we toured a cheese factory in Gruyere and a chocolate factory in Broc..imagine Kendall turned loose in a chocolate factory tasting room - it wasnt pretty!!! All is well and we are looking forward to returning home and seeing everyone in less than a week now....no matter how much you enjoy a trip it is always great to get home!...
