Today, we ported early on the Spanish island of Mallorca. Becky and I tried to get tickets to go into this cave, but they were sold out. Probably a blessing. We heard it wasn't that much to see. Nice, but not that impressive. The island itself, on the other hand, was beautiful. Mallorca is famous for their manufactured pearls. Dont' really get what that means, but I suppose if I were more educated in the ways of jewelry... Aug 11, 2005 - I'm in Palma!

After our reception and formal dinner we closed the college bar last night. Nearly everyone else went out to a nightclub afterwards but I headed home to get a few hours sleep before my train in the morning. I woke up at 6:30 after sleeping about four hours and took a shower. I got dressed, grabbed my backpack and speed walked the mile and a half to the train station. 22 minutes. Yeah, well you try to move fast on cobblestone with luggage. Aug 10, 2005 - Kung Fu Twelfth Night

well, i finished my last day of classes. i turned in a 2500 word paper - an analysis of set design in Guthrie Theatre's 2004 "Othello" and RSC's 2005 "Comdey of Errors." i gave a 15 minute presentation on margery kempe. and ... i performed in an adaptation of "Twelfth Night" that included spanish, korean, german and chinese, bad dubbing, wooden swords, kabuki makeup and a dance number. professor hartle was laughing so hard, tears were streaming. i'm still not positive if that's a good thing or not. Today we arrived in Palma Majorca or should I say Christopher Skase Heaven, no wonder he escaped to here the wealth stares you in the face with its 8 Marinas filled with massive yatchs of varing sizes mainly huge. Beautiful blue skies and warm weather. We did a tour of the city looking at the various homes of the wealthy and points of interest and yet another Cathedral (everyone is about churched out) our group refers to them as not another ABC (another bloody cathedral) however it was still worth while seeing.
