Bit of a dull day today with showers. We made an earlyish start & headed to Isla Cristina, our last overnight stop in Spain & just a couple of miles from the border with Portugal. The camp there is only a couple of hundred yards across the road to the beach & set amongst pine trees. too cold for swimming but the kite surfers were enjoying the windy conditions. We went for a walk along the beach & in the forest behind the sand dunes. There was some interesting birds in the trees including blue wing magpies & a Hoopee. There was only one...

Mar 1, 2011 - La Isla Bonita

The Dog Blog by Douglas H.C. Martland Well, dear DB readers, I don't know what the heck is going on. All I know is that we were happily heading northwards, enjoying all that rain and wind and mud, lovely. Then all of a sudden, against everything The Owners have been saying, we turned around and scarpered back down south again. All the way down from Caceres, with a quick stop in the beautiful old roman town of Merida, and we went down down down until we couldn't go any further because we hit the seaside.
